Real estate proxy by European city

Local classifieds and property portals are where European prices are set, city by city. Here is how to read them as a local visitor would, and where the limits are.

Quick answer

How do I research local classifieds or property listings in another European city?

Browse the portal by hand through a residential IP in that city, in the local language, and note listing counts, asking prices and terms. EuroCity Proxies includes city targeting on every plan, from $0.95 for 1 GB as of October 2026, with no KYC. Read each portal's terms and robots.txt before you start.

Which portals matter in which country?

Each country has its own leaders. A few examples from our country pages, where every platform is listed with its source:

  • France: Leboncoin and SeLoger · Germany: Kleinanzeigen and ImmobilienScout24
  • Spain: Wallapop and Idealista · Italy: Subito and Immobiliare.it
  • Netherlands: Marktplaats and Funda · Belgium: 2dehands and Immoweb
  • Poland: OLX and Otodom · Sweden: Blocket and Hemnet · Norway: Finn.no

Some portals show listings by distance from the visitor, or rank local offers first. A city IP plus the city filter of the portal shows the local view.

What can be done by hand, and what should not be automated?

Reading listings, comparing asking prices and counting offers in a district is ordinary market research. Do it by hand or through the portal's official data products, partner APIs or published statistics.

Do not run extraction scripts against these portals unless their terms allow it. Most terms forbid automated collection, and many robots.txt files disallow search and listing paths. A residential IP does not make a refused access permitted, and rotation is not a way around a site's rate limits.

What about personal data in listings?

Listings often carry names, phone numbers and photos of private sellers. Under the GDPR, these are personal data even when public. Record only what your research needs, such as price, size and district, and leave contact details out.

Our GDPR checklist covers legal basis, minimisation and the national authorities. This is not legal advice.

For shop prices rather than listings, see the price monitoring proxy page.

How should a city research session be set up?

Use a sticky session in the target city, such as USERNAME-country-nl-city-utrecht-session-re1-ttl-30, so the portal keeps your filters on one IP. up to 30 minutes (the IP can change earlier).

Set the interface language to the local one, use the portal's own city or postcode filter, and note the date: listing counts change daily.

Classifieds research: FAQ

Why use a city IP if the portal has a city filter?

The filter selects listings; the IP can change the default region, the ranking of nearby offers, the language and some prices shown before you filter. Use both.

Can I collect contact details of sellers?

Avoid it. Contact details are personal data under the GDPR, and most portals forbid collecting them. Keep to prices, sizes and locations.

Which cities are documented for Poland?

Warsaw, Kraków, Łódź, Wrocław, Poznań and Gdańsk, each with its parameter on the Poland page.

How much traffic do I need?

Listing pages are image-heavy; a session of browsing can use tens of megabytes. 1 GB costs $0.95 and unused traffic never expires.
