EuroCity Proxies acceptable use policy

Quick answer

What may EuroCity Proxies be used for?

The EuroCity Proxies Acceptable Use Policy (in force from 18 October 2026) allows checks of public pages and of your own services from European cities. It forbids fraud, unauthorised access, spam and any other illegal use. Some targets are blocked at the gateway, and confirmed abuse leads to suspension.

Who must follow this policy?

This policy applies to the account holder, to every sub-user, and to anyone who uses your credentials or allowlisted IPs. You are responsible for all traffic sent through your account, including traffic sent by sub-users and by software you run.

The policy is part of the Terms of Service. If the two texts seem to differ on a point of use, this policy applies.

Which uses are allowed?

You may use EuroCity Proxies for lawful work on public information and on your own services, for example:

  • checking local search results by hand from a chosen city;
  • checking prices, stock and delivery options shown on public pages;
  • opening your own ad landing pages to see the version a city gets, without clicking ads;
  • testing your own websites and apps from several European cities;
  • market research and brand protection based on public pages;
  • collecting public data while following each site's terms and robots.txt, at a modest rate.

The use cases describe these tasks in more detail.

Which uses are prohibited?

You must not use the service for:

  • fraud of any kind, including payment fraud, card testing and fake orders;
  • access to accounts or systems you are not allowed to use, including credential stuffing and account takeover;
  • getting around paywalls, logins or other access controls of a site;
  • solving CAPTCHAs automatically;
  • attacks on any system: denial of service, vulnerability scanning of third parties, or spreading malware;
  • sending spam, phishing pages or bulk email;
  • creating fake accounts in bulk, or fake clicks, views, votes, reviews or ad impressions;
  • buying up tickets or limited goods for resale;
  • collecting personal data without a lawful basis;
  • harassment, threats, or content that sexually exploits minors;
  • any activity that breaks the law that applies to you or to the target;
  • reselling or sharing access without our written agreement.

Which targets are blocked?

Blocked: Banking, government and payment-portal sites, plus SMTP (email-sending) ports 25, 465 and 587. The gateway refuses connections to these destinations, whatever the purpose.

We may add other targets or categories to this list when they attract abuse. Changes are dated in the changelog. A blocked request fails before reaching the target.

What do we expect from you?

Follow the law of your country and of the countries your traffic reaches. Respect each site's terms of use and robots.txt, and keep your request rate modest. Rotation is not a way around a site's rate limits.

If you collect personal data from public pages, the GDPR and national data protection laws may apply to you. The GDPR checklist lists the main questions. This is not legal advice.

Keep your account number, password and API keys private, and remove sub-users you no longer need.

How do I report abuse coming from a EuroCity Proxies IP?

Email [email protected] with the exit IP, the date and time with the time zone, the target hostname and a short description. Log extracts help us match the report.

Abuse reports are reviewed by a person, and confirmed abuse leads to suspension. We keep connection metadata for up to 30 days, which lets us find the account that used an exit IP at a given time. Reports sent within that period are the easiest to act on.

What happens after a breach?

We may refuse or suspend service in case of abuse, fraud or a legal obligation. Depending on the facts, we send a warning, suspend the account or a sub-user, or close the account.

Serious cases, such as fraud, attacks or content that exploits minors, lead to immediate suspension without warning. Accounts that break this policy are suspended rather than asked for ID.

Unused traffic is lost if an account is closed for a breach of the terms. Plans used in breach of this policy are not credited back.

What do we do with requests from authorities?

We answer requests that are valid under the law that applies to us. We disclose records only when the law requires it, and only the records we hold.

The privacy policy lists those records and how long we keep them. Our upstream network provider may keep its own logs under its own policy.

Can this policy change?

Yes. The date at the top of this page is the version in force, and each change is listed in the changelog. Questions about a use case go to [email protected] before you start.
