This page lists the parts of the service and the incidents we have recorded. It also shows how to tell a gateway problem from a target that refuses your requests.

**Quick answer — Is EuroCity Proxies working right now?**

This page lists the parts of the service and the incidents we have recorded. The **EuroCity Proxies** incident log started on 2026-10-18 and holds no incident as of that date. If a request fails, test the gateway against `https://api.ipify.org` first: if that works, the problem is most likely on the target side.

## Which parts make up the service?

| Component | What it does | How you can test it |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Gateway, HTTP and HTTPS | `gw.eurocityproxies.com:7777`, HTTPS through CONNECT | The first curl command below |
| Gateway, SOCKS5 | `gw.eurocityproxies.com:7778` | The second curl command below |
| City and ASN targeting | Reads `-country-`, `-city-` and `-asn-` in the username | Compare the city in the `https://ipinfo.io/json` answer with the one you asked for |
| Sticky sessions | Keeps one exit for up to 30 minutes (the IP can change earlier, for example if the residential device goes offline) | Send two requests with the same `-session-` id and compare the IPs |
| Client area | Account, balance, plans, sub-users, usage | Log in at `/app/` |
| API | Account, top-ups and orders over HTTPS | Any read call from the [API docs](https://eurocityproxies.com/docs/api/) with your key |
| Crypto top-ups | Matches each payment by its exact amount, credits it once confirmed | Top-up status in the client area |

## Which incidents have been recorded?

| Date (UTC) | Component | What happened | Status |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| 2026-10-18 | All | Incident log started. No incident recorded. | — |

New entries go at the top, with start and end time in UTC, the component and the cause once known.

## How is this page updated?

A member of our team adds an entry when an incident is confirmed. The entry is updated when the cause is known and the service is back. This page is not a live monitor: it records incidents, it does not measure the service minute by minute.

We publish no uptime percentage. Planned changes to the service, prices and policies go to the [changelog](https://eurocityproxies.com/changelog/).

*Test the gateway and a city exit*

```bash
# HTTP port: should print an IP address
curl -x http://USERNAME-country-de-city-munich:PASSWORD@gw.eurocityproxies.com:7777 https://api.ipify.org
# SOCKS5 port: the proxy resolves the hostname, not your machine
curl --socks5-hostname gw.eurocityproxies.com:7778 -U USERNAME-country-de-city-munich:PASSWORD https://ipinfo.io/json
```

## Is it the gateway, the city or the target?

- **curl cannot connect:** your network may block the port, or the gateway is unreachable from where you are. Try the other port, then another network.
- **curl returns 407:** the username or password is wrong, or the plan has no traffic left. Check the client area.
- **The test works, but your target fails:** the target is down, slow or refusing your requests. A residential IP does not change what a site allows.
- **One city fails but the country works:** City availability varies; the checkout shows what is online. Try again later or pick a nearby city.
- **The IP shows a nearby town:** IP databases often place home IPs in a neighbouring town. See the [geolocation guide](https://eurocityproxies.com/guides/ip-geolocation-accuracy/).

## How do I report an outage?

Email support@eurocityproxies.com with the time and your time zone, the targeting part of the username and the exact error. Add the output of the curl test above. Never send your password or account number. Email replies within 12 hours, 7 days a week.

If several reports point to the same fault, we record it here as an incident.

## Status: questions

### Do you publish an uptime figure?

No. We have not published a measured uptime figure, so we do not show one. This page records confirmed incidents with their dates instead.

### Does a failed connection use my traffic?

Not when it fails before reaching the target. Usage counts all data sent and received through the proxy (upload and download, headers included). 1 GB = 1,000,000,000 bytes. Connection attempts that fail before reaching the target are not counted.

### Is traffic lost during an incident?

No. Prepaid residential and rotating-mobile traffic never expires: unused GB stay on your account until you use them. If a plan does not work and support cannot fix it within 24 hours, the [Refund Policy](https://eurocityproxies.com/refunds/) credits it back in full.

### Why does my Munich exit show another town?

IP databases do not always know the exact town of a home connection. Some place it in a nearby town or at the provider's regional hub. Check with two lookups, as the [exit-city guide](https://eurocityproxies.com/guides/verify-exit-city/) explains.

### Why did my sticky IP change before the end of the session?

Sticky sessions keep one exit for up to 30 minutes (the IP can change earlier, for example if the residential device goes offline). A change before the end is normal behaviour, not an incident. Use a new `-session-` id to start over.

### Where do I see planned changes?

In the [changelog](https://eurocityproxies.com/changelog/). It dates every change to prices, cities, policies and the service.
